  • Cardinalfish brooding eggs in mouth
    2 June 06: New images added, Sea Pens. Many new tropical fish species added to the 'more tropical fish' category - Royal Dottyback, Variegated Lizardfish, Big-nose Unicaornifsh, Scribbled leatherjacket, Ring-tailed Cardinalfish brooding eggs in mouth, Yellow boxfish, Pajama Cardinalfish, Sptted Boxfish, Pufferfish, the extremely colourful Mandarinfish, Glasseye, Longtom and Blue-lined Sabretooth Blenny.
  • Fairy Basslets
    25 May 06: New category added, Groupers and Cods listing new images of Potato Grouper, White-edged Lyretail Cod, Coronation Trout, Coral Trout, and Footballer Trout. New category: Fairy Basslets with new Fairy Basslet images added. New Category: Parrotfish with the following new images added: Humphead parrotfish, Blunt-headed Parrotfish and coral showing bite marks.
  • Harlequin Tuskfish
    24 May 06: New category added, Wrasses, with the following new images added - Sunset Wrasse, Scarlet-breasted Maori Wrasse, huge Napolean Wrasse and Harlequin Tuskfish. New Marine Design images added showing Parrotfish fin and scale detail, also close up images of Cod fish eyes and red goatfish scale detail.
  • Giant Kelp fronds
    28/04/06 Kelps and Algaes added. One of the fastest growing plants in the world (comparable to bamboo) is Giant Kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) of Southern Australia. We have added images to our database of close up detail of the Giant kelp and also other algaes and grasses which often get overlooked but are very important to the reef system.
  • Dusky Shark
    23/03/06 New Dusky sharks added. Bullsharks are possibly the most dangerous tropical shark - especially as they often reside in rivers and canals where people frequently swim. They are known to have caused several deaths and attacks.
  • Harlequin Ghost Pipefish
    31/01/06 New Seahorse and Pipefish added including the spectacular Harlequin Ghost Pipefish and Pygmy Seahorse.
  • Clown Triggerfish
    13/01/06 Added to our database: Triggerfish: Clown Triggerfish, Half-moon Triggerfish, Orange-lined Triggerfish, Blue Triggerfish, Aggressive Titan Triggerfish aerating eggs, Yellow-margin Triggerfish aerating eggs.
  • Regal Angelfish the water
    11/01/06 More Tropical Fish added: Angelfish, including Yellowmask Angelfish, Caribbean Angelfish, Emperor Angelfish, Regal Angelfish, Blue-girdled Angelfish, Blue-ringed Angelfish, Three-spot Angelfish, Blue Angelfish and the Scribbled Angelfish.

  • Bottlenose dolphins
    24/11/05 Stunning underwater images of Bottlenose dolphins - mother and baby, and family group. Bottlenose dolphins are found largely in coastal waters and live for around 30 years.The calves suckle for up to 18 months. Bottlenose Dolphins live in fairly open groups and commonly associate with other dolphin species - sometimes they may interbreed. They are particularly friendly and generally love interacting with humans.

    6/09/2005 Invertebrates: Crinoids and Featherstars. We have still to add more hydroids, marine worms, sea anemones, sea cucumbers and sea urchins. Please contact us if you would like to see the low res files of these.

  • 17/08/05 We have now completed further updates to our website to make it even more user-friendly. Pricing an image is as simple as clicking the icon under an image and filling out our licensing form. You can also now order prints directly from the large image pop-up.   • 2/08/05 Many more colourful Ascidians (Tunicates or Sea Squirts) have now been added to our website. These underwater filter feeders will amaze you with their colours.
