Following are the instructions to enable cookies in the most common Web Browsers and Firewall/AntiVirus/AntiSpyware programs:

Common Cookie Blockers And How To Enable Them

Norton Antivirus and Vista home package

  • The default setting of the Norton Firewall blocks all cookies so you will need to enable/unblock cookies in your Norton software. Click here to visit the Norton Website for more information regarding enabling cookies. Also see our instructions below for instructions on how to enable cookies in Norton's Firewall.
  • If you can not configure Norton to enable cookies, you may need to uninstall Norton and install a different anti-virus which does not cause these problems. AVG is an excellent free antivirus program.
  • You will need to enable Cookies in your Web Browser/s for www.oceanwideimages.com and www.oceanwideimages.com.au - please see instructions below for how to do this in the various browsers.
  • Make sure all of your Windows updates are installed.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0+

  • From the browser menu bar, click on the Tools menu.
  • Select Internet Options from the dropdown menu.
  • Click the Privacy tab
  • In the Section labeled Settings (Select a setting for the Internet zone), click the Advanced button
  • In the Advanced Privacy Settings window, make sure the check box labeled Override automatic cookie handling is NOT checked
  • Click OK in the Advanced Privacy Settings window
  • Click OK in the "Internet Options" window

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+

  • Select Tools then choose Internet Options
  • Select the Privacy tab
  • Enable Cookies:
    • If using a default setting, move the slider to select any of the following privacy settings:
      • Medium High
      • Medium
      • Low
      • Accept all cookies
    • If using a custom setting:
      • Click the Advanced button
      • Select Override automatic cookie handling
      • Select Always allow session cookies
      • Click OK to return to the Privacy Tab
  • Click Apply then OK

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x

  • Select Tools then choose Internet Options. The Internet Options screen appears.
  • Select the Security tab.
  • Click the Custom Level button. The Security Settings screen appears.
  • Scroll down to the Cookies section
  • Set Allow cookies that are stored on your computer to Enable
  • Set Allow per-session cookies to Enable
  • Click OK

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x

  • Select Internet Options from the View menu.
  • Click on the Advanced tab.
  • Scroll down to find Cookies within the Security section.
  • Select Always accept cookies.
  • Click OK.

Netscape Communicator 4.x

  • Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
  • Find the Cookies section in the Advanced category.
  • To enable:
  • Select Accept all cookies (or Enable all cookies).
  • Click OK.

Mozilla Firefox (1.0 final release and earlier)

  • Go to the Tools menu.
  • Select Options.
  • Select the Privacy icon in the left panel.
  • Check the box corresponding to Allow sites to set cookies.
  • Click OK to save changes.

Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 5.0

  • Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
  • Click on the arrow next to Privacy & Security in the scrolling window to expand.
  • Under Privacy & Security, select Cookies.
  • Select Enable all cookies.
  • Click OK.
AOL 9.0

Please Note: If the changes below do not work for you, please minimize the AOL Browser and open and use a SEPARATE browser like Internet Explorer of Netscape. (For other AOL versions, please visit the AOL site)
  • Click on the AOL Settings icon near the top of your AOL window
  • In the Essentials section, click on Internet (Web) Options
  • Click the Privacy tab
  • Click on the Advanced button
  • Ensure that Override automatic cookie handling is checked
  • First and Third party cookies should be set to Accept
  • Check Always allow session cookies
  • Click on OK
  • Click Apply and then OK
  • Exit AOL and restart your computer (This step is important. Do not skip.)
  • Enable Cookies on AOL (v3.x) for MACINTOSH:
    Cookies are NOT available through v3.x for Mac. AOL recommends upgrading to AOL 5.0. This is available to download at http://free.aol.com.

Opera 7.11

  • From the File menu, choose Preferences
  • Click the Privacy category
  • Check Enable Cookies
  • From the Normal Cookies drop-down menu, select Automatically accept all cookies
  • From the Thrid Party drop-down menu, select Automatically accept all cookies
  • Click OK
Camino

  • Select Preferences from the Camino menu
  • Select the Privacy icon
  • Select Enable cookies
  • Close the Preferences by clicking in the window's close box
Konqueror

  • Under Settings select Configure Konqueror.
  • In the Settings window, select Cookies
  • On the right-hand side panel select Enable Cookies

Modify your SECURITY FIREWALL ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE settings below:
Security/firewall/anti-virus software can sometimes affect how browsers handle cookies. Please make sure you have cookies enabled in your software, or add out URL to your "safe list" of sites.
Norton Personal Firewall

  • Double click on the Norton Personal Firewall icon in the tray.
  • Click on the Open option in the pop-up menu.
  • Click the Options icon in the Norton SystemWorks menu box.
  • Click on the Personal Firewall option in the Options menu box.
  • Click the Advanced Options button at the bottom of the Norton Personal Firewall Options menu box to retrieve the default settings menu box.
  • Make sure you are in the Web tab. There may be several domains already listed in this area.
  • Click on the Add Site button at the bottom of the Web defaults window.
  • You will need to enter "www.oceanwideimages.com" and "www.oceanwideimages.com.au" (without the quotes) as a new default. This should activate the default rules section of that window.
  • Make sure the Cookies and Referrer (under Browsing Privacy) are set to permit as a default rule for the www.oceanwideimages.com and www.oceanwideimages.com.au domains.
  • Click OK, then click OK again.
Zone Alarm

  • In Zone Alarm, select Privacy.
  • Under Cookie Control, click Custom
  • In Custom Privacy Settings:
  • Uncheck the box that says Block session cookies
  • Uncheck the box that says Block persistent cookies
  • Uncheck the box that says Remove private header information.
  • Uncheck the box that says Expire Cookies
  • Click OK.

McAfee Privacy Service

  • Right-click the red M icon by your system clock.
  • Click Privacy Service
  • Click Options
  • The McAfee Privacy Service window appears. Click the Cookies tab.
  • Enter web addresses oceanwideimages.com and oceanwideimages.com.au from which you would like to allow cookies.
  • Click Add
  • Once completed, close the window.
